Freshmen Lady Knights Win Championship!!!
On
Saturday, 2/07 the Freshmen Lady Knights took on their rivals from
Roswell in the finals of the Region 6AAAAA Tournament. The previous 2
regular season games saw the teams split, with both winning on their
home court. The game started out with the teams obviously tight and
nervous given what was on the line. The offenses struggled to put up
numbers with Centennial taking the lead in to the locker room at the
half in a very low scoring affair. The third quarter saw our Lady
Knights take it right to the Hornets. The defense was ramped up,
creating turnovers which led to a number of easy baskets. The team took
a 10 point lead in to the 4th quarter. They kept the pressure on and
never looked back taking the game and the Championship home to
Centennial by a score of 27 - 16. Leading the way for the Knights was
Kierra Lawrence with 14 points. Congratulations to the team and Coaches
Ferrel and Moore on an outstanding season!
