Boys Head Coach
 |
Coach
Allen Whitehart enters his fifth season overall at Centennial. In
his first year with the Knights, Coach Whitehart served as the JV
head coach before being promoted to Varsity assistant. He served as
Varsity assistant for the Knights during the 2004-05 and 2005-06
seasons. Since Coach Whitehart came to Centennial as an
assistant, the boys
basketball
program has set school records for wins in each of the last four
years. The Knights' 2005-06 season was highlighted by
Centennial advancing to the 2nd round of the state playoffs (Sweet
16) for the first time in school history with a final record of
19-11. The 2006-07 season was Coach Whitehart's first season
as Varsity head coach. Centennial basketball continued to
improve with Whitehart at the helm as the Knights had a record
breaking year, setting the school record for wins at 28, fewest
losses 5, and the most consecutive wins 21. The highlight of
the season came as Centennial won their first region basketball
championship on their way to playing for the Georgia AAAAA State
Championship, coming up one point short and finishing as State
Runner- Up. Subsequently, Coach Whitehart was named Georgia
AAAAA Coach of the Year as well as Region 6-AAAAA Coach of the Year

upon Centennial's success by continuing to stress team work,
